What AI-native gaming means
Most games bolt a chatbot onto a script. GamerNew inverts it: agents, memory, simulation and multiplayer are one architecture, and the game is what emerges from it.
Every world has a clock, weather, tension, resources that regenerate and agents that act on a tick — whether or not anyone is watching. Come back tomorrow to a place with history.
Agents carry identity, objectives, relationships and a layered memory. They recall your first words, hold grudges, keep secrets and change their minds. The database is their brain, not the prompt.
Presence, parties, invites and a shared event stream mean the same world is one world. What another player did an hour ago is what an agent tells you about now.
Living worlds
A GamerNew world is a persistent state machine, not a level. Its runtime advances a world clock, rolls weather and tension, regenerates resources, lets agents take validated steps, and raises ambient events seeded by the author — all written as an append-only event log that every player and agent reads from.
Ticks are lazy and scheduled: worlds with players present advance every few seconds; quiet worlds advance on a schedule so returning is never a return to stasis. Nothing lives in your browser — leave, come back, and the world has moved.
Enter
Spawn at the world's threshold. See who's present, what changed since you left, and what the agents are up to.
Act
Move between connected locations, gather, take quests, speak to agents, or declare a freeform action the world records.
Consequence
Agents witness what you do. They remember it, react to it on the next tick, and carry it into conversations with other players.
Persistent agents
Each agent is a structured being: identity, personality traits, objectives, secrets, relationships, reputation, current state — and six kinds of memory that decay, consolidate and get recalled by relevance.
Memory architecture
Recall is grounded: full-text relevance, importance, recency and relationship score a handful of memories into each decision. The model never sees "the whole history" — it sees what matters.
Propose → validate → execute
Create
Describe a concept, a setting, rules, characters and win conditions. GamerNew composes a structured world — locations, agents with conflicting objectives, quests, factions, economies, event seeds — validates it, and the runtime starts executing it immediately.
Your words, in a form built for authors — not a prompt box. Concept, atmosphere, rules, characters, challenges, multiplayer mode, social mechanics.
The result is a versioned WorldConfig with referential integrity checks. Every location connects. Every quest has a giver. Every agent has a home.
Publishing materializes rows the runtime executes. Agents are born with core memories. Later versions evolve the world without erasing what its agents remember.
Multiplayer & social
See who's in a world and where. Agents see it too — a crowded location changes what they do.
Form a party, move it between worlds, and drop an invite link anywhere. Membership limits scale party size.
Every public world has a real URL with a preview card. Remix it, react to it, post the moment it produced.
Trending, newest, friends, recommended, competitive, AI-driven, creators, experimental — recommendations learn from where you actually spend time.
The next era
For fifty years games have been recordings: the designer plays first, and you replay what they captured. Even the most open worlds are elaborate arrangements of pre-written responses waiting for you to trigger them.
That era ends when the characters can think and the world can remember. Not a smarter enemy — a place with its own momentum, where the people inside it have reasons, histories and relationships that exist whether or not you're looking.
GamerNew is an early, working version of that medium. It is deliberately honest about what it is: a web-native runtime with a real event architecture, real persistence, real agents, real multiplayer — built so richer clients and authoritative servers can plug into the same living state later.
The point isn't to generate games. It's to let worlds live — and to let players be the people who author them.
